Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Institute of Educational Sciences was established with the Council of Ministers Decision No. 2011/1595 published in the Official Gazette No. 27906 dated April 15, 2011. 
In the 1,2,3 numbered Decisions taken at the 136th session of our University Senate dated 22.02.2012, and examined at the Higher Education Council meetings held on 05.04.2012, 10.05.2012, and 26.06.2012, in accordance with Article 7/d-2 of Law No. 2547 amended by Law No. 2880 and Articles 4 and 7 of the Regulation on the Organization and Operation of Graduate Education Institutes;

Within the Health Sciences Institute of our University;

  • Department of Physical Education and Sports Teaching Physical Education and Sports Education Master's Program with Thesis,

Within the Institute of Science;

  • Department of Primary Education Science Education Master's Program with Thesis,

Within the Institute of Social Sciences;

  • Department of Fine Arts Education Music Education Doctorate Program,
  • Department of Primary Education Classroom Teaching Education Doctorate Program,
  • Department of Primary Education Classroom Teaching Education Master's Program with Thesis,
  • Preschool Education Master's Program with Thesis,
  • Social Studies Teaching Master's Program with Thesis,
  • Department of Educational Sciences Educational Administration Supervision Planning and Economics Master's Program with Thesis,
  • Department of Educational Sciences Curriculum and Instruction Master's Program with Thesis,
  • Department of Fine Arts Education Art Education Master's Program with Thesis,
  •  Music Education Master's Programs with Thesis,

were transferred to the Institute of Educational Sciences, and started postgraduate education activities with a total of 146 students in 2 Doctorate programs in 2 Departments and 9 Master's programs in 2 Departments from the 2011-2012 Academic Year.
As of the Spring Semester of the 2023 – 2024 Academic Year, our Institute continues its educational activities with 9 Doctorate programs in 6 Departments and 20 Master's programs in 9 Departments.
