The decisions taken by our University Senate regarding the 2022-2023 Spring Semester Education and Training at the meeting dated 20.02.2023 are as follows:
1- To start the 2022-2023 Academic Year Spring Semester on February 27, 2023,
2- To continue the implementation of the academic calendars in academic units that started education and training before the relevant date,
3- To conduct student course registration/renewal processes online between February 23-March 3, 2023, and add-drop processes between March 06-10, 2023,
4- To conduct the practical training of the final year students face-to-face within the scope of the “Framework Regulation on Applied Education in Higher Education” (7+1, 6+2, 3+1 education model and practical training) at our university,
5- To conduct the theoretical part of the courses in all academic units (preparatory, associate degree, undergraduate, and graduate) other than the programs specified in the table above through distance education, to postpone the practical part of the courses to after April, and if distance education continues after April, to conduct the practical parts of such courses in the summer term with the decision of the University Senate or to complete them with practical project studies,
6- To conduct graduate courses through distance education platforms to be determined by the instructors, and not to open courses through UZEM.
7- To grant the right to freeze registration to all students who request it in the spring semester and not to deduct this period from the maximum education period of the program.
8 - Students who want to benefit from the special student status must meet the following conditions.
a) Students enrolled in universities in the provinces affected by the earthquake or students whose first-degree relatives reside in the earthquake-affected provinces and are enrolled in universities in provinces outside the earthquake zone,
b) Students enrolled in programs within the scope of the “Framework Regulation on Applied Education in Higher Education”; to apply for special student status within 3 weeks from February 27, 2023,
9 - Students who want to benefit from the special student status should submit their application petition along with the student certificate they obtained from YÖK e-transcript to the student affairs unit of the relevant faculty-program, and to be registered to the relevant program and class with the decision of the unit administrative board, and to evaluate the special student period within this scope independently from the special student period determined in the Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Special Student Directive,
10- To grant the right to make-up and single course exams for the 2022-2023 fall semester associate degree, undergraduate and graduate programs, and to announce these exam dates at a later date to be determined by our University Senate,
It was decided unanimously.
